TOWNSEND – Townsend Chairperson Monica Zeller submitted her resignation effective September 9, 2026. Chuck DeMoulin has been appointed chairperson effective immediately and will serve the remainder of the current term.
Following the change in leadership, the Town of Townsend is accepting applications from community members interested in serving as interim town supervisor. The individual selected will support the Town Board and help ensure the continuation of effective municipal operations.
Responsibilities include participating in Town Board meetings, assisting with oversight of daily municipal operations, supporting budget preparation, engaging with residents, responding to community needs and helping draft ordinances, resolutions and other official documents.
Ideal candidates should possess strong communication skills, an interest in local government and a commitment to serving the Townsend community.
Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest and a brief résumé to the town clerk by 9:00 am Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
