Come for a special evening with a dinner reading from Wisconsin’s Poet Laureate, Brenda Cardenas, painting with Connie and music by Larry Seiler at The Big Easel on February 28, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Brenda Cardenas, born in Milwaukee, has earned degrees from UW–Milwaukee, UW–Oshkosh, and the University of Michigan. Her works include Trace (2023 Society of Midland Authors Award for Poetry), Boomerang, chapbooks, and co-edited anthologies. Her poetry features in major magazines and anthologies; she contributed to a Carnegie Hall choral performance in 2024. Professor Emerita at UW–Milwaukee, she is also a Board member at Woodland Pattern.
