About Randal Harrison
Early in his musical journey, Randal Harrison received valuable advice from his father: always “hire musicians better than you.” This principle has shaped his career, allowing him to continuously learn on stage alongside renowned artists such as Dane Richeson, Ben Tucker, Sam Lay, John Harmon, and Clyde Stubblefield. Currently, Randal is involved in several projects including the Randal Harrison Ensemble, Honor Among Thieves, Piper Road Spring Band, and his celebrated solo violin and voice performances.
Randal’s education includes studies with Margery Aber, Shinichi Suzuki, distinguished Suzuki educators, and NEA Jazz Master Richard Davis. His accomplishments include a southeast EMMY nomination and multiple Madison Area Music Awards (MAMAs) for best blues, classical, and jazz artist. As a former president of the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin and founder of ESTEAM, Randal teaches internationally, focusing on improvisation and violin techniques. He regularly appears at prominent events such as the American Suzuki Institute and the Singapore International String Conference. For more information, visit randalharrison.com.
