WABENO – The 25th Dual Sport Riders Rally brought 267 riders to the area for a weekend of fall riding and fundraising, generating $7,500 for nonprofit organizations serving local communities.

On September 26, 2026, the Wabeno Lions Club hosted a grilled steak dinner for rally participants, more than 20 landowners who allow trails to be built and maintained on their properties, and radio responders. Thirty Lions members grilled steaks, prepared and served the meal, and tended bar. About 350 meals were served, with unused food donated to Linda’s Kitchen.

Beautiful fall weather greeted riders as they traveled approximately 140 miles on Saturday and 75 miles on Sunday. Participants used smaller dual sport motorcycles suited for trails and larger adventure motorcycles that can also travel on highways.

The rallies have been held since September 2001, with the exception of 2020 during the COVID pandemic. Participants come from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa.

More than 50 local, state and national sponsors contributed raffle and auction prizes. Proceeds from the weekend’s activities supported organizations in the Wabeno, Laona and Lakewood areas.

Donations included $2,000 each to the Christian Food Pantry, Linda’s Kitchen and a group that helps injured veterans enjoy motorcycle rides, along with $1,500 to the Laona Beautification Committee.

The Wabeno Lions Club thanked the riders for their fellowship and generosity toward local communities. Riders also expressed appreciation for the area’s hospitality in their own account of the event.

“Thank you to the Wabeno/Laona communities and Forest County for making this a welcoming place for us to come and recreate,” the group wrote.
