TOWNSEND – Community members gathered in Townsend on Friday, August 21, for a successful waffle fry fundraiser benefiting AVAIL House in Antigo.

About 200 people were served waffles prepared by Nick Salm and his crew. Organizers expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended, volunteered and donated to the event.

All proceeds supported AVAIL House, a shelter serving survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. The money raised will also help support a grant initiative developed by AVAIL’s dedicated staff.

AVAIL, which stands for Advocates for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Abuse, has provided services to survivors since 1980. The organization is committed to supporting survivors and educating the public to help prevent violence.
