Local Paddlers to Gather at Chain Lake

LAKEWOOD – A group of local paddling will be gathering on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Chain Lake in Lakewood with a launch time of 5:00 pm. Directions to the launch in Lakewood is to turn south off Hwy 32 onto Archibald Lake Road; immediately turn right on Chain Lake Road for .3 miles.
The group is led by Dick Kendall, informally known as the group’s “Paddle-Commander”.

Participants include men and women of a range of ages and experience levels. Some paddle kayaks, others use canoes, two members ride stand-up paddle boards, and another brings a craft equipped for fishing. The group typically spends about 1¼ hours on the water before heading to a local establishment for food, beverages and conversation. On Thursday, August 13 the group will be heading to The Olive Pit after the paddling event.
