RIVERVIEW – Members of the Riverview Fire Department recently gathered at the future site of a new fire training building, marking an exciting step forward for the department and the community it serves.

The planned training building will give firefighters a dedicated space to practice the skills they rely on during emergency calls. For local fire departments, regular training is an important part of staying prepared for fires, rescues and other situations where quick action can make a difference.

Metalwood Garage Landworks and Excavating is helping with the preparation work at the site. The project also has a personal connection to the department: owner Jeremy is a Riverview firefighter, and his wife, Dana, serves as president of the Riverview Fire Department auxiliary group.

Department members said they are excited to see the project move ahead. Once completed, the building is expected to support hands-on training and help firefighters continue building the experience needed to respond safely and effectively.

Fire service leaders often emphasize that constant training is what keeps departments ready when emergencies happen. For Riverview, the new training building represents another investment in preparedness, teamwork and the safety of the community.
