LAKEWOOD – Community members will have a chance to learn the basics of disc golf during a casual outdoor event on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Lakewood Pavilion.
The event begins at 2:00 pm and will feature several mini-games designed to introduce new players to the sport. Participants do not need prior experience, making the gathering a welcoming opportunity for anyone who has been curious about disc golf or is simply looking for a fun way to spend time outdoors.
Disc golf is played much like traditional golf, but instead of clubs and balls, players throw flying discs toward targets. The sport has grown in popularity because it is easy to learn, inexpensive to play and suitable for a wide range of ages and skill levels.
Those interested in taking part should meet at the south parking lot of the Lakewood Pavilion, located at 17258 North Road in Lakewood. The mini-games will give participants a chance to practice throwing, learn basic rules and see what the sport is all about in a relaxed setting.
Organizers encourage residents, families and first-time players to stop by, join in the activities and enjoy an afternoon of friendly recreation. This event is sponsored by The Green Banana.
