TOWNSEND – Townsend Volunteer Fire Department’s older trucks are currently undergoing important maintenance and upgrades. Dedicated members of the department, along with the Friends of Townsend Fire, are working together to ensure these vehicles receive the attention they need to remain reliable and safe.

One of the key improvements being made is the addition of reflective dots to the fire trucks. These reflective markings are designed to make Townsend’s trucks more visible from behind, especially in low-light conditions. Enhanced visibility is crucial for protecting the safety of Townsend Volunteer Fire Department’s members while they work on roadways, as it helps alert approaching drivers and reduces the risk of accidents.
