Wabeno Lions Donate $400 to Laona’s Backpacks to Go Program

lhs backbacks cropped 850x445

LAONA – The Wabeno Lions Club recently donated $400 to Laona High School’s Backpacks to Go program, which provides students with nutritious meals and snacks to take home for the weekend at no cost.

The school’s National Honor Society organizes the program and helps keep it running smoothly. Each Friday, backpacks are filled with food and placed in participating students’ lockers to take home.

The Lions’ donation will help support the program’s efforts to provide students with food beyond the school week.

Pictured from left are National Honor Society advisor Beth Calhoun, Wabeno Lion Paul Newton, and National Honor Society students Brody Hoffman, Reese Connor and Brynn Yaeger.
