Townsend Volunteer Fire Dept Responds to Garage Fire

TOWNSEND – At approximately 2:23pm today, Townsend Fire Department along with the Nicolet Fire District were dispatched to a report of a fully involved detached garage with a house close to it. Upon arrival, the garage was fully involved, and fire had spread to a nearby tractor, wood pile as well as the home. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fires as well as prevent any further damage to the house.
There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
Cause of fire was debris burning.

Townsend Fire was assisted by fire departments from Lakewood, Doty, Riverview, Crooked Lake, and Mountain as well as the Oconto County Sherriff Department, and the DNR Fire Rangers.
