The Northwoods Community Assistance Coalition held a volunteer appreciation dinner to honor the volunteers nominated for volunteer of the year awards for their outstanding volunteerism this past year.
Judy Wiegand their transport coordinator was recognized for her many hours of arranging transport and driving individuals to appointments, grocery shopping etc.
Lori Nienhaus was recognized for her many hours organizing and managing the lending closet. The lending closet has been very busy. It allows those in need of medical equipment to obtain this without purchasing and to return when no longer needed. Lori works many hours in this role.
Scott Favour was recognized for his volunteering for the community as a helping hand in whatever may be needed. He has helped many individuals over the past year.
Dan Liebe was recognized for his response to need for home modifications. Dan looked at several projects and determined needs. He has planned and executed home modifications to assist individuals to safely leave or access their homes.
After the awards ceremony they turned to their cheer baskets. Items were donated, arranged and put together by volunteers. Fifty-five baskets are being delivered this year to those around us just needing a little cheer this holiday season.
The Northwoods Community Assistance Coalition would like to thank all of their volunteers for their help this year. This has been a growth year for them. They have been working on processes and utilizing their headquarters effectively for our communities.
