RIVERVIEW – Fifteen students successfully completed their Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Snowmobile Safety Certification during a class held Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Riverview Community Center, 15152 Island Lake Road.
The course helped prepare participants for safe snowmobiling through instruction focused on responsible riding. Organizers thanked the trainers for contributing their time, knowledge and enthusiasm to help educate the next generation of riders.
Two guest speakers also joined the class. Ryan Zahn, recreational officer with the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, shared his knowledge and perspective on recreational safety.
Bryce Allen introduced students to Kids and Adults on Snowmobiles, known as KAOS, an Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs program for young people ages 14–21. The program offers opportunities to become more involved in snowmobiling and connect with other riders their age.
Organizers thanked both speakers, along with the students and parents who participated. They emphasized that certification is only the beginning of becoming a responsible snowmobiler. Safe riding requires continued practice, preparation and good decisions each time riders head onto the trails.
With winter approaching, the graduates can look forward to putting their training into practice while enjoying Wisconsin’s snowmobile trails with family and friends.
