February 6, 2026 is National Wear Red Day. Your Oconto County Public Health team is wearing Red in support of American Heart Month and National Wear Red Day. Cardiovascular disease is the Number 1 killer of Women.

Almost 45 percent of women over the age of 20 are living with some form of cardiovascular disease, according to the American Heart Association. A person dies every 34 seconds from cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease killed approximately 1 in three people back in 2023, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

In the United States, heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups.
