CROOKED LAKE – Members of the Crooked Lake Volunteer Fire Department recently gave up part of their morning on Saturday, September 19, 2026 to complete essential fire hose testing while dodging raindrops along the way.

Although hose testing may not be the most exciting task at the fire station, it plays an important role in keeping the department prepared. Each hose must be carefully inspected and tested to ensure it meets safety standards and is ready to perform reliably during fires and other emergencies.

The work requires time, teamwork and attention to detail, but regular testing helps protect both firefighters and the community members they serve.

The Crooked Lake Volunteer Fire Department expressed its appreciation to the members who volunteered their time and worked through the damp weather to complete the job. Their dedication behind the scenes helps ensure the department remains battle-ready whenever an emergency call comes in.
