WABENO – Bethel Baptist Church in Wabeno will host a free community soup supper on Wednesday, September 16, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
For the past several years, the church has welcomed the cooler fall weather with a popular chili supper. This year, church members are expanding the meal into a community event open to everyone, regardless of background or church affiliation.
“We all know that food eaten alone satisfies the belly, but food shared with others tastes better because it satisfies another hunger—loneliness,” Pastor Benjamin Larson said.
The open-house-style event will feature an all-you-can-eat selection of homemade soups and desserts. Guests may arrive anytime during the supper.
There is no charge to attend. Free-will donations will be accepted and used as seed money to establish a scholarship fund for area youth.
Bethel Baptist Church is located at 1761 East Avenue in Wabeno. For more information, contact Pastor Larson at 715-610-1420.
