Wabeno Area School District Invites Community Members to 2026 Veterans Day Celebration

2026 wasd veterans day program 768x402

WABENO – The Wabeno Area School District warmly invites all community members, families, neighbors, and area veterans to join students and staff for the annual Veterans Day Program on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

This long-standing annual event brings together students, local service organizations, and the broader Northwoods community to honor and express gratitude to the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Community participation is an essential part of making this day meaningful for our local heroes, and the district strongly encourages area residents of all ages to attend and fill the gym in support of our veterans.

This year’s event kicks off on Wednesday, November 11, at 8:00 am with an elementary school flag raising, and an 8:30 am complimentary breakfast for veterans and their families in the high school commons. The full assembly for students, staff, community members and veterans begins at 10:00 am in the Wabeno High School Gymnasium and will include informational speeches and tributes to military families and local veterans. After the program concludes, Veterans are invited to join students at either the elementary school or high school for lunch.

“Our Veterans Day program is more than just a school event — it is a vital community tradition where generations come together to say thank you,” said Bill Taylor, District Administrator. “We want to encourage all community members, whether you have a student in the district or not, to come out, sit in the stands, and join us in showing our deep gratitude to those who served.”
