WHITE LAKE – A group of local paddling enthusiasts will gather Thursday, August 20, 2026 for an evening outing on White Lake. The group will launch at 5:00 pm and is led by Dick Kendall, informally known as the group’s “Paddle-Commander.”
The paddling group welcomes men and women of a variety of ages and experience levels. Participants take to the water in an assortment of watercraft, including kayaks and canoes. Two members use stand-up paddle boards, while another brings a craft equipped for fishing. The group typically spends about 1¼ hours on the water.
Following the August 20 paddle, the group will gather for a picnic at the pavilion. Participants should bring their own sandwiches, beverages and desserts. A swimming beach is also available, so those who would like to spend some additional time in the water are encouraged to bring a swimsuit.
To reach the White Lake launch site, travel west on Highway 64 from the Highway 64/Highway 55 intersection in Langlade. Continue west for approximately 1.6 miles and watch for the sign directing motorists to the Village of White Lake. Turn left onto North White Lake Drive and travel 0.7 miles to County M. Turn left onto County M and continue approximately one mile to the boat landing.
The group welcomes others who are interested in getting out on the water, meeting fellow paddlers and enjoying an evening of recreation and conversation.
