Maple Syrup Days is a special event tailored for Scout-aged youth in 6th grade and above. The event will take place on both March 21 and 28, 2026 from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. The event features two distinct program experiences: the First Year Program and the Advanced Program. Participation in the Advanced Program requires completion of the First Year Program. All attendees should be prepared for physical activities and possess a basic understanding of 6th grade science principles.
The day begins on Saturday morning with check-in at 8:00 a.m., followed by a hearty pancake and porkie breakfast served with authentic Bear Paw Maple Syrup. Throughout the event, participants will explore the journey of maple syrup production, from tapping the tree to bottling the syrup, utilizing both traditional and modern methods. The cost for the program is $30 per person and includes breakfast, lunch, a commemorative patch, and an 8 oz. bottle of Bear Paw Maple Syrup personalized with each participant’s name.
The First Year Program is designed for Scouts attending Maple Syrup Days for the first time. This introductory experience guides participants through the entire syrup-making process, beginning with tapping a tree and concluding with bottling their own syrup. The program follows a round robin format, allowing Scouts to engage in each aspect of maple syrup production.
The Advanced Program is intended for Scouts who have completed the First Year Program. With a foundational understanding of maple syrup production, participants in the Advanced Program can delve deeper into specific elements of the process that interest them, including opportunities to earn merit badges.
Bear Paw Scout Camp is located at 14000 Bear Paw Lane, Mountain. For additional information or to register, please visit scoutingevent.com/635-MapleSyrupDays.
