LAKEWOOD – Lakewood artist Joan White is among 52 Wisconsin artists whose work has been accepted into the juried Wisconsin ART from the North exhibition, which will be on display August 27, 2026 through October 31, 2026 at ArtStart Galleries in Rhinelander.
White’s 17-by-47-inch oil painting on aspen wood, titled “Life on the Brook,” was selected for the exhibition. The piece was originally commissioned by a Wisconsin collector, who later encouraged White to enter the painting in the juried show.
The exhibition attracted 176 entries from 70 artists, with jurors selecting 73 works by 52 artists for inclusion. Serving as jurors were Tom Uttech, Kelly Jean Olm and Kyle Knoke.
A public reception will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at ArtStart Galleries, 68 S. Stevens St., Rhinelander. At 2:00 pm, Knoke will present a juror talk, followed by the presentation of awards.
The Wisconsin ART from the North exhibition is sponsored by the Wisconsin Visual Artists North Chapter and was open to Wisconsin artists age 18 and older living east, west and north of Fond du Lac County.
