LAKEWOOD – Residents and visitors are invited to get moving and enjoy some fresh air during a Wellness Walk in downtown Lakewood on Saturday, September 19, 2026 held in conjunction with the annual Festi-Fall celebration.
The walk will begin at 9:00 am, with participants meeting at the trailhead building at the corner of Highway 32 and County Highway F in Lakewood. The event is scheduled from 9:00 to 10:00 am and is open to people of all ages and fitness levels.
Participants can choose how much they would like to walk. The route will consist of one to four half-mile loops, allowing walkers to complete a single loop or continue for all four. Participants may walk with the group or at their own pace.
Organizers say the event is designed to encourage people to move more while also focusing on their overall well-being. Grab-and-go health information will be available at the beginning and end of the walk.
Even a short walk can offer benefits, including helping to reduce stress, boost mood, increase energy and support heart health. Organizers also hope the event gives participants an opportunity to connect with others while taking positive steps toward stronger mental wellness.
Parking will be available at the ATV/UTV lot at the corner of State Highway 32 and County Highway F in Lakewood. The walking route will also be posted on the Healthy Oconto County Facebook page.
Following the Wellness Walk, participants are encouraged to stay in Lakewood and enjoy Festi-Fall, which will feature food, wine tasting, live music, antiques, vendors and handmade items throughout the community.
The Wellness Walk is supported by Healthy Oconto County, NAMI North Bay Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin–Madison Extension Oconto County.
Organizers encourage participants to bring a friend, enjoy the morning and then spend the day taking in everything Festi-Fall has to offer.
