LAKEWOOD – School-age children served by the Christian Food Pantry in Lakewood are receiving a little extra encouragement as they prepare to head back to the classroom.
On behalf of the Mission/Evangelism Committee at Forest Larger Parish Presbyterian Church, Suzanne Bell recently presented back-to-school gift bags for children served by the food pantry.
The gift bags are filled with a variety of treats and small toys, including single-serve snacks, yo-yos, light-up bouncing balls and finger lights.
The church committee organized the project as a way to help local students get excited about the upcoming school year while also sharing a message of encouragement and faith. Organizers hope the bags will bring some added fun to the start of a new school year and remind the children that God loves them.
The Christian Food Pantry serves individuals and families in the Lakewood area and is located at 15290 State Highway 32 in Lakewood.
