WABENO – The Wabeno Lions Club held its first summer cookout on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Trump Lake Pavilion, where District Governor Mike Milbach formally installed the club’s officers for the 2026–27 term.

The officers will serve from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The incoming leadership team includes President Carla Van Camp, who joined the Wabeno Lions on June 20, 2011; 1st Vice President Kate Gressler, July 22, 2019; 2nd Vice President Dan Moravec, Aug. 15, 2022; 3rd Vice President Alan Harrison, July 1, 2000; 4th Vice President Bill Taylor, Aug. 21, 2023; Secretary Cathrine Rankin, July 17, 2023; and Treasurer Jan Volk, Oct. 1, 1985.

During the event, Milbach also presented service awards recognizing members for 10 to 40 years of service. The club expressed its appreciation to outgoing President Greg Tallier for his leadership during the past year. Tallier, a 35-year member of the Wabeno Lions, was recognized for exemplifying the Lions motto, “We Serve.”
