LAKEWOOD – Wheeler Lake in Lakewood became one of the first lake associations to hire an intern in Oconto County. Current interns Claire Pommerich and Shane Clark are making numerous efforts to educate residents/public about lake health and keep Wheeler Lake Clean!

Water quality data, Invasive Species Surveys, and educational events are just the tip of the iceberg. They encourage other lakes in the area to look into getting an intern and support the health of their lakes. They were awarded three grants this summer to help them fulfill their duties. Working with Oconto County specialists, they invite you to join their events and trainings to expand your knowledge on non-native species and how we can keep our treasured lakes clean!
