TOWNSEND – Townsend residents and visitors will have plenty to look forward to this Independence Day as the Townsend Fire Department prepares for a full day of festivities and fundraising. Friends of Townsend Fire members and local businesses are selling raffle tickets to support the department’s training and equipment updates, with all proceeds staying in the community.
The celebration will take place at the Townsend Fire Department, 17937 Front St., beginning at 9:00 am. The event will be held rain or shine and will feature meat raffles, food and beverages throughout the day, and fireworks at dusk.
Additional entertainment is also planned, including the Fourth of July Parade at noon and live music from Lovin’ Country from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The northern Wisconsin duo is known for performing a wide mix of music, including country, oldies, rock, blues, Motown, polkas and waltzes.
The event is designed not only to celebrate the holiday, but also to help ensure local firefighters have the resources they need to continue serving the community.
