About the Performer

A career U.S. Navy veteran, Skip Jones has a strong connection with veterans and the issues they face. He blends a diverse musical repertoire with engaging stories drawn from a lifetime of performing, teaching, and traveling the world.

Style and Inspiration

His music and storytelling are inspired by the late folk legend U. Utah Phillips, his primary mentor, as well as advocates for social justice and environmental causes. Accompanied by guitar, banjo, and Native American flute, he has entertained and educated audiences at thousands of libraries, schools, festivals, nursing homes, and community events across the country.
